Why does iced tea go cloudy? A planner for flash-chilled, cold brew and slow-cooled tea

Iced tea goes cloudy because compounds that stay dissolved in hot tea, such as polyphenols and caffeine with minerals like calcium, clump into visible particles as it cools. It is harmless, and you can plan around it.

Pick flash-chilled, cold brewed or slow-cooled hot tea, set the jug size and the strength, and the planner gives you the leaf, water, ice and steep, with a glass that shows how the haze trends.
